In the summer of 2018 I moved to the Chicago area with my family. A great adventure for all of us. In he Netherlands I had over 2 decades experience in leadership roles in profit and not-for-profit organizations. Moving to the US felt like the beginning of something new: creating opportunities and taking on new things as I was without a job for the first time since the age of 14. I started taking liberal art classes at the University of Chicago and took up vocal lessons. Bought a road bike and now I am cruising the neighborhood.
I also started my iPEC training to become a coach. The in-depth coach training was everything I asked for and more: learning how to be a coach and learning a lot about myself. I took a good look at my strengths, blocks, values and ambitions. And decided to start my own business as a result. Connection and collaboration were always very strong values in my life and work. Now I’m excited to apply them in my coach business working together with clients.
In the summer of 2021 I moved back to the Netherlands with my family. We truly had an amazing time in the US! We brought home a lot of memories and great experiences. And my coaching business which I’m extending to consultancy and change management for organisations.
Who or what do you lead? An organization? Your household? A team or yourself? Or maybe all or some of the above. I remember taking up my first leadership role and questioning myself about the way I presented myself to my team and reports. Did I want to appear firm or lose, give space or set strict targets? When I got more experienced in my leadership my questions changed: it was less about how others perceived me and more about who I wanted to be. Leadership coaching is all about insights: who do you want to be and how can you achieve that.
What does it look like?
As core energy coach I start our coach relation with an Energy Leadership Index assesment (ELI: more information below). The ELI will provide great insights in how your energy pattern is made up, what perceptions and beliefs you have and if they work for or against you. We use the debrief of the results to make a plan what to work on and what goals you want to achieve in our sessions together. We can meet every week or every two weeks. Sessions regularly take up an hour. I coach over the phone or via zoom.
Everyone experciences changes in their life and is forced or chooses to go through tranisitions at one point or another. A new job or child, losing a loved one, a move or the searching of a new identity. How you deal with changes is a result of who you are and what you have learned in life. Insights in your patterns and believes help to create awareness in how you experience change. And with that knowledge you have choices how to deal with them. Transition coaching is all about achieving peace: pause to look at and deal with changes. And when the time is right explore the choices you have about how to move forward.

I start our work together with an Energy Leadership Index (ELI). The ELI is a very cool instrument that will show you how your attitudes, perception and beliefs, whether concious or not, may be working for or against you. We all have our filters, through which we view the world. Those filters are based on your expercience in life and the world and the people around you. These filters help you to achive your goals but they can also trip you up. The ELI helps you see those filters and therefore creates awareness about what leads to stress for you and how you can use your energy to your advantage.
The thing about awareness is that it provides options and choices about changes you want to make and the way you want to show up in life and work.
Filling out the questionaire wil take you about 20 minutes.
Be ready for a surpirse when I debrief you! Even if you think you know yourself well, you’ll discover new things. For me personally it was like puting together all the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle and seeing the complete picture.
